Guests have enjoyed the beautiful setting and amenities of the Alloa cottage, particularly praising the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, and the property's suitability for families and large groups. The location is appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and walks, enhancing the holiday experience. Some guests noted areas for improvement, but these do not overshadow the overall positive experiences shared.
The property generally appears to be well-kept, with specific mentions of a well-maintained pool. However, there are comments about mould in a shower and a lack of cleaning materials, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness.
The location is highly regarded, with guests enjoying local pubs, walks, and nearby attractions. The convenience and dog-friendly nature of the area contribute to a positive experience.
The property is described as warm and cosy, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. Some furniture is noted as tired, and issues with heating and hot water were mentioned, indicating some comfort concerns.
Facilities like the pool and hot tub are highlights, but several maintenance issues, such as lighting problems, shower door malfunctions, and inadequate kitchen supplies, have been reported, suggesting a need for better upkeep.

Newby Bridge, a tiny community in Scotland, was named after the 1651 construction of a stone bridge with five arches that crosses the River Leven. It is between these two towns—Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge—that the Furness Railway, one of the oldest standard gauge steam railways in Britain, operates. Guests of the Lakeside Hotels may take in breathtaking vistas of Windermere and the fells beyond, while visitors to the Aquarium of the Lakes can experience the region's rich history through interactive exhibits housed in naturally inspired habitats. Bowness-on-Windermere is a great place to spend the day, and if you want to see more of the Lake District, you can also visit the nearby village of Hawkshead, which was formerly home to literary greats like William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and take in the scenery from nearby Gummer's How.
