Rose Cottage is generally praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and cleanliness, with many guests appreciating the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and excellent shower. The location is appreciated for its proximity to Lake Coniston and Ulverston, offering lovely views and a peaceful setting. Some guests experienced issues with maintenance and a lack of welcome gifts, but these were not universal experiences.
Most guests found the cottage to be spotlessly clean, with one report of it being 'embarrassingly dirty'. The majority of positive comments suggest high standards of cleanliness, with one outlier.
The location is frequently praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions like Lake Coniston and Ulverston. The views and accessibility to cycling and walking routes are also highlighted. However, one guest mentioned a closed local pub, which slightly impacts the score.
Guests consistently report that the cottage is comfortable, with special mentions of the comfy beds and cosy wood burners. The spaciousness and pleasant garden add to the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, particularly the well-equipped kitchen and the selection of games. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a non-working fire, dangerous microwave, and lack of basic supplies like salt and pepper, which lowers the score.
