Guests say

Tarn Lodge in Windermere is highly praised for its cleanliness, peaceful and beautiful location, and well-equipped facilities. Guests enjoy the wildlife, the proximity to Bowness, and the added luxury of a hot tub. While some minor issues are mentioned, the overall experience is one of comfort and relaxation, making it a recommended stay for visitors to the Lake District.

The lodge receives high commendation for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning its spotless condition upon arrival. The attention to cleanliness is consistent across reviews, suggesting a well-maintained property.

The location is very well received, offering a peaceful setting with wildlife and a picturesque tarn. Its proximity to Bowness is appreciated, although the uphill walk may be challenging for some. The ongoing construction mentioned in one review slightly impacts the score.

Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the lodge well-stocked and the beds comfortable. However, there are a few mentions of the single beds being small and the lodge being cold, which slightly lowers the score.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and the hot tub. Criticisms include issues with Wi-Fi, lack of TV channels, and some maintenance concerns. The mention of construction work also suggests potential for future disruption.

While guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like Grasmere gingerbread and ducks visiting, there are not enough references to gifts to accurately score this category. It is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

It had everything we needed. Only 1 slight quibble, the en-suite shower hasn't got a variable shower head & the water wasn't very hot despite going over the "scald" feature to test it. That was all. We would love to stay again.
