Barn Hoppitt Lodge is a well-received cottage with guests praising its cleanliness, beautiful decoration, and proximity to nature and transport links. The large garden and peaceful setting are highlights, alongside the thoughtful touches and well-equipped kitchen. Some minor issues were noted regarding maintenance and comfort.
Guests consistently describe the property as clean and immaculate, indicating high standards of cleanliness.
The location is appreciated for its rural setting near a forest and its accessibility to London, shops, and restaurants. Some guests noted the convenience of nearby transport links.
The lodge is generally found to be comfortable, though some guests mentioned issues with pillows and heat management. The lack of an upstairs bathroom was also noted.
Facilities are well-regarded, especially the kitchen. However, points were deducted for mentioned maintenance issues such as lighting and a broken floodlight, as well as suggestions for improvement like fans or AC units.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches and a welcoming cake, there is not enough consistent information about gifts to provide a score. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

All invite you to enjoy the impressive vista across the centre of the Forest, with its thousands of veteran Oak, Beech, and Hornbeam trees, just as the Tudors did from this spot so long ago. Well maintained sheltered garden. Only slight downside was no upstairs loo, but we knew that before booking. We were pleased to find facility to charge our EV. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back when we visit family in nearby Buckhurst Hill.
Nicholas
It is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for our week-long stay.
