Guests consistently praise the cottage for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and the warm welcome from the owner, Mark, who often provides a generous hamper of goodies. While most feedback is positive, a few guests suggest improvements such as a walk-in shower and better stair bannister security.
Reviewers frequently mention the property's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'tidy', indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The property is commended for its quiet, peaceful setting with easy access to local amenities and attractions. Its rural charm and proximity to walks and wildlife are appreciated by guests.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of a secure garden for pets, a well-stocked kitchen, and comfortable beds. However, some guests noted the need for a walk-in shower and concerns about the stair bannister.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, the score reflects the minor issues raised about the shower facility and stair bannister, suggesting room for improvement.
The owner's thoughtfulness is frequently noted, with guests mentioning welcome packs and provisions. While these are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.
Positioned in a quiet, no through road, surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside and with views from every window upstairs, is this lovely, semi-detached holiday home. It is ideal for families, friends and couples looking to explore the Norfolk Broads and all the attractions it has to offer. Entrance is gained from the front of the property and into a tiled porchway, where you can store coats and walking boots. The living/dining room boasts views across green fields as you eat at the dining table, and sumptuous armchairs with a country feel. From here you can access the galley-style kitchen, with sufficient fixtures allowing you to enjoy a comfortable break away from home. A cloakroom completes the ground floor, making good use of the space, with a small hand basin integrated on top of the WC. Climb the plush carpet to the first floor, where you will find two double bedrooms and a bathroom. The front bedroom is spacious with ample storage, bedside cabinets and views over a patchwork of rolling, walking country. The second bedroom allows you to wake up to the same endless views, as you enjoy your morning cup of tea from the warmth of your bed. Fitted units not only add a sleek finish to the room but are a great way of saving space. The bathroom is bright and clean, occupying a shower over the bath. To the outside you have the choice of seating area to the front and rear for alfresco dining and the garden is fully enclosed for children and dogs to play safely. This property sits about ¾ mile outside Ludham and is just 6 miles from Wroxham, while the rest of the Broads, How Hill and Bewilderwood are also only a few minutes away. Norwich is a mere 40 minutes from here, and there are no end of local attractions within a 20-mile radius. The National Trust's Horsey Mill is an iconic landmark, which can be explored on foot, following a wildlife rich trail. Brograve Mill is in the parish of Sea Palling, a Grade II listed building constructed of red brick. Both are around 9 miles from the property and well worth a visit. How Hill Nature Reserve offers abundant walks, a museum of a marshman life in Toad Hole Cottage, and beautiful scenery. Choose this base for a memorable holiday in East Anglia.
Surrounded on 3 sides by the rivers Ant, Bure and Thurne and its own small broad, is the Norfolk village of Ludham. It boasts an array of moored boats and small shops, a lovely place to holiday. At the centre of the village is the crossroads, near to the thatched church of St Catherine’s and several pretty thatched cottages, the local pub, village store, butcher’s and tea rooms. To the north west of the village is How Hill Nature Reserve with nature trails and a museum of a marshman life in Toad Hole Cottage. The garden is completely safe for a dog or children and there are several peaceful walks from the doorstep that we enjoyed. Mostly Whitegates is very clean ( a couple of issues that the owner is going to resolve) and very comfortable . I hope to be able to go back.

Could do with upgrading in the bathrooms and cleaning in these areas otherwise a relaxing holiday.

No27 was the star of the show! Cosy, comfy, spacious, well equipped, with great views over fields and a pretty garden, it provided an ideal base to explore the area as well as a refuge. Even the central heating worked. (Not a sentence you expect to use in a July property review!) We really liked it and our grandson loved the house. "Better than home". I would happily recommend No27 at any time of the year and hope to return next year. KD
