Curlew Cottage in Norfolk receives high praise for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and well-maintained garden. Guests appreciate the convenient location with local amenities and nature spots nearby. The cottage is well-equipped, though some noted the absence of a washing machine and the steep stairs. The thoughtful touches by the owners, such as welcome gifts, add to the pleasant experience, although these are not guaranteed for every stay.
Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as spotless and well-kept, which indicates a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is frequently praised for its proximity to local pubs, shops, and nature reserves, making it an ideal spot for both convenience and leisure activities.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, although some mention the second bedroom is cramped and the steep stairs could be challenging for those with mobility issues.
The property is well-equipped with necessary amenities and some extras, but the absence of a washing machine and the mention of a few minor maintenance issues, such as the need for sharper knives and extractor fans, slightly lower the score.
The owners' thoughtfulness is evident from the welcome gifts and well-stocked kitchen, although it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided for every stay.

Birding was the purpose of our visit. The village had everything you needed too. Communication was excellent. The information about the cottage was accurate on the Sykes site. I would reiterate that the stairs are very steep, the bathroom is downstairs so worth considering if you need to negotiate them when half asleep at night. There are some areas where you need to duck if tall but these are clearly identified. My oversight when booking, there isnât a washing machine. The parking was a bit hit and miss. It was roadside parking, which is stated in the information, but there was the odd occasion when we had to park a few hundred yards away in side streets. The only kitchen equipment I missed was a measuring jug and some kitchen scissors. The neighbours I met were very friendly. The cottage is very well thought out and is clearly loved by its owners. We donât eat out but there did appear to be some really lovely places to eat nearby. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you for a lovely holiday home!

Perfect location close to amenities, ease of access to local bus with good service to Kings Lynn and Hunstanton.

The beds were large and comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped, the shower was excellent. It is close to several pubs, a Coop and the excellent Old Store bakery and cafe. We went for the birding and were blown away. 81 species in one weekend, travelling no further than Cley. I also cycled and that was great too. There was no washing machine. A small matter, but I usually take limited clothing, expecting Iâll some midweek.
