Lovely peaceful location, cottage was very comfortable especially the beds. Slight issue when we arrived that the heating wasn't on and we couldn't get it to work, no phone number for owner provided, so we had to call original cottages who were very helpful & sorted the issue quickly. Overall a lovely holiday.

We booked our stay through originalcottages.co.uk having found this property in their listings and what a place it looked, open plan, well appointed a lovely looking property. We arrived with high hopes of staying in a lovely appointed and spacious house. BUT! our hopes where quickly shattered. The property had a tired and well used appearance and we then found that it was dirty! The master bed had not been changed prior to our stay sheets dirty and hairs in the bed YUCK! Only two bath towels and one hand towel left for our use. Thank goodness we had taken beach towels with us! The separate toilet wash basin was disgusting having not been cleaned for who knows how long. The shower riser rail in the main bathroom was hanging off the wall and the connection between the hose and shower head was wrapped in sticky tape which was covered in black mould. The whole bathroom needed a good clean. The owner did arrange for a plumber to rectify the problems in the bathroom but this only happened four day in to our stay. In the lounge there was dust on every surface and someone had written “clean me” on the TV stand which and even more dust over the writing. All the furniture in the lounge and dinning area had seen better days the main yellow sofa was particularly bad in that the sprung base had collapsed and you sunk in to the base when sitting on it. We complained to the agent and they got the owner to call us. She (The owner) was apologetic to a point but offered very little to resolve the problem. Blaming the previous people that stayed there for the problems, saying they had left the place in a terrible state. I do not believe this for one moment and what are cleaners for anyway ? She could have offered to sending the cleaner back in the following day to clean the place and change the bedding but NO! we ended up clean and washing things ourselves. This is not what you expect to have to do at all never mind when you have been charged just short of £1000.00 for the stay. The only advise I can offer anyone thinking of staying at Journeys End is DONT!

We enjoyed our holiday in the village of Ringstead and the spacious bungalow Journey's End, which is situated in a quiet and peaceful location. The garden is a good size, well kept and was great for our little dog to explore. We were thrilled to see two Little Owls who visited the garden each evening. This is an ideal base for visiting West and North Norfolk and there are lovely beaches and attractions close by.
