Catch up on the day in the living/dining room and enjoy a home-cooked meal around the dining table, before cosying up in front of the TV where you can relax in front of the woodburning stove. Make use of your own enclosed courtyard and sip on a smooth coffee on a summer's morning. As the evening draws to a close, retreat to one of the inviting bedrooms, comprising a double room and a bunk bed room, ideal for small families. Also on this floor is a soothing bathroom featuring a sumptuous bath with an overhead shower. A short stroll will bring you to a local store to grab the necessities for your trip, as well as a traditional pub where you can enjoy some food alongside a pint of ale before exploring an array of historic attractions such as The Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, and Eggleston Hall. Doorstep walks await around the River Tees and over to the adventurous Teesdale Way, whilst High Force, Low Force and Cauldron Snout waterfalls offer a spectacular day out with breath-taking views. Take a scenic drive over to Barnard Castle and explore all the market town has to offer, boasting a wealth of shopping, tea rooms, antique shops and historic streets. Alternatively, spend a day at the exciting city of Durham, home to an imposing Cathedral, a historic castle, the Durham University Botanic Garden, Museum of Archaeology, and Crook Hall and Gardens, as well as a plethora of cosmopolitan amenities to keep you busy. Return year after year to Coniston House.

Barnard Castle is just a short drive away, whilst Teesdale Valley, the city of Durham, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park are perfect for days out.
