A delightful, stone-built, semi-detached cottage situated in its own grounds in the peaceful and tranquil hamlet of Hury in the Baldersdale area, 10 miles from Barnard Castle. Set in beautiful surroundings, the property boasts first-class accommodation, offering a charming master bedroom with beamed ceiling, a modern fitted kitchen with full-length picture window and a warm, snug sitting room. With breathtaking views of the reservoir and surrounding countryside, this is a great place in which to unwind and escape the stresses of modern life. A host of scenic walks and nature trails can be enjoyed nearby, or visit Romaldkirk, with its superb award-winning pub. Made up of a small cluster of hamlets and farm dwellings overlooking the reservoirs of Hury, Blackton and Balderhead, Baldersdale branches off Teesdale. Home to Hannah Hauxwell, this lovely settlement rose to fame in the 1970s when Hauxwell was featured on television for single-handedly running her farm from her home which had no running water. Now managed by Durham Wildlife Trust, 'Hannah's Meadow' is an attractive nature reserve. One of the most unspoilt villages in Teesdale â Romaldkirk â is close by and consists of pretty greens, old stone cottages, a beautiful old church and two pubs - one of which won the AA Pub of the Year award for England in 2003. The breathtaking Dales countryside provides some excellent walking and cycling routes whilst the cities of Durham and Newcastle are all within easy driving distance for more cosmopolitan activities.

The views were amazing as they changed with the weather it was beautiful especially the sheep being there all the time. The cottage was lovely they had provided everything such as washing up Liquid, tea towels and much more and the bed was really comfy. We went out every day as there were lots of things to do and see and my 2 dogs thoroughly enjoyed it We would go here again and will probably go back next year
