Surrounding this busy town is excellent walking country, including both high open moorland and pretty wooded valleys, and the town itself has a wide variety of shops, pubs, and places to eat. High Force, Gibson's Cave, and Cauldron Snout are some of the most impressive waterfalls in the area, and Barnard Castle, a bustling market town not far away, has everything you could need.

Tastefully furnished and everything you need supplied. There are plenty walks nearby and the owner kindly supplied details of these and was very helpful. The property is within walking distance of cafes, pubs, gift shops and a supermarket yet in a peaceful setting. A true gem and we would love to return!
