The well-equipped, modern kitchen proves itself to be the ideal place to cook up a home-cooked meal, to be enjoyed in one of the many seating areas inside and outside of this property depending on the weather. The large-scale rooms in this house, including the refreshing, contemporary bedrooms and bathrooms, make this property suitable for all ages and abilities with plenty of wheelchair access into the lodge. The outside of this property boasts two seating areas; a raised lawn area with a chiminea, as well as a patio, both with incredible views of the surrounding countryside. The village of Butterknowle is one mile away and has two pubs. Barnard Castle is six miles away and is a charming market town, home to the magnificent Bowes Museum. It hosts a large antique quarter; unique shopping; restaurants, and a vibrant arts centre. Bishop Auckland is nine miles away itself is a market town brimming with history and culture, home to Auckland Castle and a Roman Fort along with a theatre and art complex. The open air spectacular show Kynren is re-enacted in the shadow of Auckland Castle, on a weekend during the summer months. The beautiful city of Durham sits just 11 miles from Bishop Auckland, the county town is home to a magnificent cathedral, and castle which has World Heritage Site status, and is noted for some of the best examples of Norman architecture in Europe.
