Cosy Nook in Alnwick is a charming Victorian cottage appreciated for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and character. Guests enjoy its convenient location within walking distance to local attractions and the town centre. The property's period features and well-stocked amenities contribute to a comfortable stay, although some guests suggest minor improvements. The lack of Wi-Fi is noted, but the property's overall appeal and the owner's helpfulness leave a positive impression.
The majority of guests found the property to be very clean and well-maintained upon arrival. However, a few guests mentioned issues with dust and cobwebs, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness.
The property's location is highly praised for its proximity to Alnwick's centre, with easy access to shops, attractions, and parking. The quiet, picturesque area adds to the appeal, making it an excellent base for exploring.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the living areas cosy, especially with the open fire. Some guests noted the attic room and kitchen size as limitations for larger groups, but overall the property is deemed comfortable.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-appointed kitchen and powerful shower. However, guests frequently mention difficulties with the cooker and suggest the addition of a home guide. The lack of Wi-Fi and some maintenance issues slightly detract from the score.

A charming, 19th century townhouse within walking distance of Alnwick town centre. Offering traditional and cosy accommodation over three floors, Cosy Nook boasts an open fire, wonderful kitchen and a sunny patio garden. Well-equipped and comfortable, the cottage is ideally located for exploring all that the region has to offer. Alnwick Castle and gardens (most recently famous for Harry Potter connections) are just 15 minutes' walk, while just 4 miles away lies the Heritage Coast with its miles of sandy beaches and dunes. An ideal location for a relaxing break.
This part of Northumberland is famous for its unspoilt beauty, and is widely recognised as having some of the most picturesque countryside in the whole of England. The area offers a wonderful combination of coastline and countryside, having long sandy beaches and the Cheviot Hills complementing each other perfectly. There are also a great number of well-preserved and spectacular medieval castles and stately homes in the area, including the fantastic Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and often referred to as "The Windsor of the North". Alnwick itself was once a prosperous medieval market town, being only a day's ride from Berwick-upon-Tweed in the north and Newcastle upon Tyne in the south. It is still a charming maze of cobbled streets and narrow alleys, whilst its fine stone buildings now house a range of specialist shops and family-run businesses. Visitors can still enjoy the atmosphere of Alnwick as it may have been in Medieval times in the town's recently refurbished Market Place, which is also the centre for local events, including Alnwick Fair and the International Music Festival.
