About this property

This welcoming property is located on the edge of the peaceful village with walks and cycle trails from the doorstep and is a superb base to explore Northumberland’s best beaches, seaside villages and historic towns. Nearby Embleton (1.5 miles) has a welcoming golf course, stunning, sandy beach and quality farm shop/delicatessen where you can stock up. Stroll on Low Newton’s glorious beach (2.5 miles) followed by a drink in the seaside pub. Take a picnic to Beadnell Bay (6.7 miles), and watch the kite surfers and rock pool with the kids. Beadnell village has two pub restaurants, a café/bistro and a beachside café. Head to Seahouses (7.2 miles) for boat trips to the Farne Islands, and discover Bamburgh Castle (9 miles). Visit Craster’s famous seafood eateries and coastal path to Dunstanburgh (4.7 miles), Howick Hall Gardens and Arboretum and the family will love a day at Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

The modern, bright holiday property is perfect for families and couples looking for a little luxury, plenty of comfort and the convenience of being close to all the popular attractions on the Northumberland coast and beyond. In the hallway, there are coat hooks and a comfortable seat where you can take off and store your walking boots after your daily adventures and a door leads to the downstairs WC. Head into the elegant, open-plan living space on the ground floor with underfloor heating throughout, powered by the air source heat pump. The warm and inviting lounge space is furnished with two large, comfortable leather sofas so you can sit back and unwind in front of the attractive gas-fired wood burner-style heater in the corner, and there is a wall-mounted Smart TV for entertainment. Bi-folding doors flood light into the room and can be opened in the warmer months to embrace outdoor/indoor living. The dining table has room and seating for six guests and the contemporary kitchen is fully equipped so the family cooks can prepare a range of meals and drinks. The appliances include an electric hob and oven, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The utility room is just off the main living area and has a washing machine and additional storage space. The glazed back door opens to the garden. Upstairs, there are three beautifully presented bedrooms; a king-size at the front with a view over the nearby countryside and an attractive en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle and WC. The double bedroom is also at the front with a walk-in closet, and the single bedroom has a trundle bed (which can be made up as a twin or a double for an additional child guest) and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The stylish family bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside at the rear, there is an enclosed garden with a lawned area and a patio with garden furniture where you can relax, and enjoy alfresco dining and dark sky stargazing. The side gate leads to the driveway. At the front, the large, gravel drive can park up to three cars and there is a gentle ramp leading to the front door.

We can not recommend this highly enough, the cottage was immaculate, extremely comfortable, facilities were excellent and location superb. We had a fabulous week here, managing to explore the wonderful beach walks at Seahouses, Bamburgh, Embleton Bay etc. I would certainly book again.
