Hartam House is a well-received cottage in Northumberland, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches like flowers and a telescope. The property is in a superb location for exploring the countryside, with many guests planning return visits. While some noted the garden's suitability for pets and proximity to other houses, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with particular commendation for the welcoming local community and the attentive property owner, Paul.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as exceptionally clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting the immaculate condition of the property upon arrival.
The location is generally praised for its proximity to Kielder Water and forest walks, although a few guests were surprised by the closeness of neighbouring properties. The village's tranquillity and friendly atmosphere are frequently mentioned.
The cottage is often described as comfortable and cosy, with comfortable beds and a warm atmosphere. Some guests mentioned the furniture could be more comfortable, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.
Facilities are well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped and maintained. A few minor issues were raised regarding outdoor lighting and a handrail, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback.
Many guests appreciated the thoughtful gestures such as the provision of a telescope for stargazing and a welcome bottle of wine. It is noted, however, that such gifts are a kind gesture from the owner and may not be a consistent offering for every stay.

Stayed for kielder marathon weekend and ideal location for the start. Only disappointment was that there wasn't a welcome pack and for a cottage 9 miles from the nearest shop even some T bags and milk would have sufficed. Some people were left flowers and wine but we had nothing.

you can not let your dogs free in garden as itâs not secure although plenty of open green spaces to take them to for toilet walk.

The garden was good to sit out after a long day exploring. The neighbours are all so friendly and welcoming. Me and my wife would really want to thank everyone for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely place.
