In the town there is ample pubs and tea rooms which all seem to be dog friendly. Near to local attractions. Carlisle to the west and Hexham and Newcastle to the east and situated close to hadrians wall. The cottage has a good heating system and a log fire, so lovely and warm. The bathrooms are nice with good working showers. The main shower tray does fill quickly. Plenty of hot water. The beds are comfortable however the duvet in the main room could do with a change. Basic cleaning is fine however attention to corners, light fittings etc for cob webs is required.

Slept in main bedroom, take eye mask as curtains thin. No noise from Main Street+ parking on road after 6 pm, or nearby Sainsbury's car park, or round corner off Lantys Lonnen.Good shower in main bathroom. Only negative was cooked cabbage smell which lingered.

Also with a good central location with lots of local amenities close by. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Bastle House for this week. Also, this house was very cosy, easy to keep warm and with ample hot water for showers.
