Chare Close Cottage in Haltwhistle is highly praised for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts and thoughtful touches like starter packs and home-baked goods. Its location is ideal for exploring Northumberland and enjoying local amenities. While one review mentioned mismatched decor and noise, the majority reflect a positive experience, making it a recommended stay.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it being 'super clean', 'spotlessly clean', and well-maintained. This consistent praise across reviews indicates a very high standard of cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as ideal, with proximity to town, pubs, and scenic walks, including Hadrian's Wall. It's also noted for being quiet yet accessible, contributing to a high score. However, one review mentioned noise from a nearby road, slightly impacting the score.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds comfy and the seating ample. The cottage is described as cosy and spacious, providing a comfortable environment for guests. The presence of heating and hot water adds to the comfort level.
Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen, on-site parking, and reliable hot water. However, there are comments about the lack of WiFi in the listing (despite it being available) and minor maintenance issues, which slightly lower the score.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, providing welcome packs and sometimes home-baked goods. While these gifts are warmly received, it is politely noted that such extras, while delightful, may not be guaranteed for every stay.
