Amble 2.2 miles. Settled into the countryside hamlet of Low Hauxley, near Amble, Beachside is the ideal couple’s retreat for a romantic getaway to Northumberland. Be welcomed by the stone exterior of this lovely single-storey property and unpack with ease from an off-road parking spot. The open-plan living area has all of the home-comforts needed for your stay, including a leather sofa beside a TV and electric fire stove, a dining area for two and a great little kitchen where ample amenities are stashed away into smart wooden cupboards. The bedroom boasts contemporary shades of brown on the velvet blankets and opulent curtains, and you can shake the countryside chill from your hair with a relaxing shower. Outside there is a private patio, a great spot for dining alfresco. Low Hauxley has a selection of activities for guests, beginning with Hauxley Nature Reserve, where you can immerse yourself in wildlife and enjoy the waterscapes and woodland as you take a stroll through the countryside, and there is also a fantastic beach just a short walk from the property, ideal for a romantic stroll with a backdrop of ocean waves. If you want to dine out or stock up on essentials, head over to the next town of Amble where there is a variety of eateries as well as walks along the river and piers, and from here you can reach Warkworth, where there is a wonderful castle for you to explore. The hamlet of Low Hauxley is situated at the northern end of Druridge Bay, a four-mile stretch of sand dunes and white sands. Less than two miles away is the seaside port of Amble, which is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks. Just a mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks, and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.

    The location of the cottage is in very close proximity to a lovely beach and amenities are a quick drive away in Amble.
