The picturesque town of Allendale (1.5 miles) has a range of shops, pubs, restaurants and interesting walking routes. Hadrian s Wall Country offers walking, cycling and Roman history. Spend time at the forts and museums of Vindolanda and Housesteads, and discover The Sill (all within 12 miles). Visit beautiful Hexham Abbey (9 miles) and enjoy strolling by the river and Sele Park, or have lunch in the Roman town Corbridge (15 miles) and stock up in the lovely food shops. Head to the coast for a day and pop to the Lake District, both about an hour s drive. Access this beautiful house via the conservatory where you can sit with your morning coffee looking out onto the patio and garden.
