Resting centrally in Amble, a bustling harbour town in Northumberland is Stone's Throw, a well-positioned, two-bedroom holiday home. Just paces away from a hub of shops, eateries, pubs, the marina and shoreline, Stone's Throw makes the ideal base for exploring the delights of the county, well-equipped for a self-catered stay; four guests are invited, ideal for couples sharing or friends. Park up on the roadside in the centre of the town, before travelling by foot to Stone's Throw and its stone-fronted exterior. Enter the homely living/dining room, complete with plush seating, a TV, and dining for four guests, before locating the contemporary kitchen, well-equipped with all expected appliances. When sleep calls, head upstairs to select between the double and queen bedrooms, both well-presented and serviced by a sleek shower room. Come morning, explore the marina and the wealth of amenities on your doorstep, including several convenience stores, and popular eateries, including The Fish Shack, The Old Boathouse, and Lily's Landing. For countryside views, head to the Hauxley Nature Reserve, perfect for bird watching and wildlife spotting, or if you favour the coastal landscape, stop off at Warkworth Castle whilst travelling towards Warkworth's golden beach. Travel further towards Alnmouth, also home to a popular shoreline, Alnmouth Golf Club, and The Old School Gallery, showcasing a variety of local artwork, or discover the Northumberland shoreline some more at Druridge Bay Country Park, or East Chevington Bay Beach; both Northumberland Zoo and the Northumberland National Park are also within reach, popular attractions to add to your itinerary. Experience all of this, and more, at Stone's Throw.
Amble, a bustling small harbour at the River Coquet's mouth, is a great starting point for exploring Northumberland. In addition to sandy beaches, a marina, a harbour, and coastal hikes to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and the national park at Druridge Bay, Amble, once a centre for boatbuilding, offers all of these amenities. A variety of fish, prawns, crabs, and lobsters are landed by the large fishing boats that are moored around the harbour wall. On the side of the harbour is a fish centre that sells local fish and is available to the public. It is currently mostly a shellfish hatchery to restock levels of lobster and other shellfish. Coquet Island, an rspb reserve with a sizable population of terns, puffins, and eider ducks, is located one mile south of Amble.
