The community has a shop with a post office, a coffee shop, a pub, and a restaurant. The castle is renowned for serving as the location of Hogwarts School in the "Harry Potter" movies. Alnwick has a good assortment of stores, bars, and restaurants, and there is a lot to see and do nearby, including miles of beaches with fine sand, numerous castles, and boat tours to the well-known Farne Islands.
