There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Amount of Stairs were the only drawdown for those with limited mobility.

The hosts have thought of everything providing everything you need and the welcome pack of bread butter jam milk and biscuits was a lovely touch. Also tea coffee sugar for a drink when you arrive.

The little extras in the kitchen were welcome. Great views and we enjoyed seeing the lifeboat going out on training.
