The spacious kitchen/diner is fully fitted with everything needed to produce delicious food for the family and there is a stylish dining area all set up ready for guests to enjoy long and leisurely meals together. The outside space is a particular feature with landscaped areas, a summerhouse and a patio area; you can imagine spending many happy holiday hours here soaking up any sunshine and enjoying time alfresco. All that fresh air will have tired everyone out so when it’s time for bed guests can choose from three attractive bedrooms including a master with en-suite facilities and two additional bedrooms and a shower room completes the accommodation. In the morning you can wake up raring to go with the delights of coastal and rural Northumberland on the doorstep. The bustling village of Warkworth is close by, which is known for being home to the dramatic ruins of a 12th century castle. Its link to the past continues with the village’s selection of antique shops and galleries and it also has a beach and a golf course. Attractions in the area worth visiting include Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands and Alnwick Gardens. Other beaches nearby worth packing a bucket and spade for include Alnmouth, Cresswell, Embleton and Newton Haven. Summerfold is an attractive single-storey cottage in a beautiful coastal setting which promises guests an enjoyable holiday.
Lying in the loop of the River Coquet on the Heritage Coast, Warkworth is a picturesque village, dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The history of the village and the castle are intertwined with the Percy Family who took over the castle in 1332. The Percys’ other home is nearby Alnwick Castle, most recently associated with Harry Potter as the film location of Hogwarts School. The main street is lined with Georgian and early Victorian houses and there is an exceptional range of galleries, antiques shops, a village shop/Post Office, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to suit all tastes. Warkworth has its own stretch of sandy beach and a 9 hole pay and play golf course. Also within easy touring distance are Hadrian’s Wall, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, the Farne Islands, several wonderful beaches and Alnwick Garden with its remarkable water cascade and Tree House Restaurant.
