This wonderful cottage has led a colourful life, it was once a barn which stood here for over 200 years and has since been a violin repair shop as well as someone’s home, before being lovingly furnished to create a holiday cottage sure to delight those visiting the Cleveland and Yorkshire Coast, as well as the surrounding North Yorkshire Moors National Park. On entering the property you are welcomed into the living room, with a feature brick fireplace housing the electric wood burner. Furnished with your comfort in mind, the sofa and chairs are ideal for unwinding in after a busy day exploring, whether you want to watch a movie or plan the adventures for the days ahead. Upstairs you have the well-presented shower room, with a large walk-in shower. As well as two bedrooms, the master double bedroom as well as a twin. Both of the bedrooms offer views out to the sea on the horizon on a clear day. Waking up you will be sure to feel beckoned by the blue water as you gaze out of the windows.

Skelton is a peaceful little town, with a row of independent shops and cafés along the high street as well as a small supermarket for your added convenience. Plus some lovely local pubs, where you can treat yourself to a well earned pint after a day of exploring. You are in a great location to explore the coastline as you are less than a 10-minute drive away from Saltburn’s beach, as well as having nearby Runswick Bay, Staithes, Sandsend and Whitby all ideal for days out. They are all connected by the Cleveland Way walking route along the cliff top, where you can enjoy panoramic views over the sea. There is a beautiful riverside walk which takes around 40 minutes leading you from Skelton to Saltburn’s golden beach, which is a surfer’s paradise. If you do not fancy braving the waves, then you can delight in watching them from the Victorian pier. Saltburn boasts an array of restaurants to choose from as well as both trendy and traditional bars to mingle in. The beach is huge and stretches for over 8 miles, with golden sand as well as shingle. For the adventurous join the surf school, or even try paddle boarding on a calm day. A walk-up Roseberry Topping rewards walkers with an incredible viewpoint over the moorland to the sea. Or you can go sailing or windsurfing at nearby Scaling Dam. There is so much to see and do nearby, younger family members will love the arcades at both Saltburn or neighbouring Redcar. For history lovers why not visit Guisborough priory, which gardens are a delight through the seasons with wild garlic, daffodils and bluebells to enjoy, or take a tour around historic Whitby and discover the heritage of the coast, from Vikings to smugglers. A great choice all year round. Pub within 1 mile. Beach 2½ miles.
