South Shields, a seaside resort town on the Tyne estuary, is a short drive from Newcastle upon Tyne. Heavy industries like coal mining and glass manufacturing took over South Shields' long-established shipbuilding industry in the 19th century, when it was still a part of County Durham. With its Blue Flag beach, it has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. The South Shields Museum, the Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, and the Souter Lighthouse are just a few of the town's many attractions, which include 76 steps to the top of the Souter Lighthouse for breathtaking views. You may take picturesque walks along the coast, taking in the stunning cliffs and rocky bays, or visit the South Marine and North Marine Parks, both of which are great places to spend an afternoon.

.. the yard was full of weeds .. I had to get a screwdriver to fix it from the staff at grotto... then next morning ,I weeded the yard ....the problems inside the apartment....1. The doormat is old, dirty and needs replacing...the toaster was broken, 2 of the 4 bits useless and inside dirty . We used it once ,,, no toast for us after mum seen how dirty it was. The oven was filthy and stained .. it went in the wash...the glass on the oven needs a deep clean...it was awful. The 2 ring cooker ,had a crack in one of the rings...we used it once. There was a strong smell in apartment. We knew it was old house, but no air fresheners in there ...the blind on the front door was broken. The broken parts were in a shelf . The beds should have mattress protectors, none were present .. there was sand in the bed.. When my mum turned covers back , we had to clean the bed out.. There were no cloths to clean worktops down . Only blue roll. In the bathroom, there needs to be somewhere to pur shower gel etc. All that is needed is a stick on holder. Also missing,a hook on bathroom to hang stuff on. The drain on shower wasn't draining well,,hence a musty stink. The location was brilliant, the views awesome, I have been in top flat twice before, that was lovely and was looking forward to going in this one. These issues I raised, need to fixed, general maintenance in this flat , has been lacking. If theses issues can be fixed , this apartment will be stunning. If I knew they had been fixed, I would be happy to book again . In the bathroom, it needs a chair to sit on. If you had disabled guest ,tying to use shower without chair us is dangerous. Another thing that us missing is grab rails on wall in bathroom. I used that bathroom with caution as I scared of falling.
