Guests say

Hillside House offers a charming stay with stunning views and friendly animal encounters. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the warm welcome from the owner. While some minor issues were noted, the prompt communication and remedial actions taken by the hosts are commendable.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the property clean and others noting areas that require attention. The presence of hair in the shower and a dirty floor in one instance suggest room for improvement.

There is insufficient information to accurately assess the location as reviews do not specifically mention its convenience or attractiveness.

The property is generally considered comfortable, with guests finding their stay relaxing and enjoyable. However, the lack of mirrors and clothes rails in bedrooms has been mentioned as an area that could enhance comfort.

Facilities have received criticism for maintenance issues like a broken shower and missing items like a football table. The absence of a washing machine, despite being listed, also affects this score.

The owner's personal welcome and responsiveness to issues show thoughtfulness. However, the lack of a comprehensive welcome book and the absence of gifts or special touches in the reviews lead to a moderate score. Please note that any gifts are given at the owner's discretion and are not guaranteed.

Accommodation was clean and well pleasant. Owner was on the grounds, and made a point of welcoming us and asking if there was anything we needed. Communication was great, would highly recommend! Thank you for making our summer break so enjoyable!

The sheep, alpacas and chickens were a great bonus - little one loved these! However, the cottage itself wasn't exactly clean. There was still hair in the shower from those who stayed before us and the floor was dirty downstairs. There wasn't a washing machine in the cottage as stated on the listing and a bit more info on the surrounding area e.g. restaurants, things to do etc as a welcome pack would have been nice. Overall, it was okay but needs a serious deep clean.
