Welcome to Ghyll Farm, set in a quiet, rural village, in western Cumbria. As you cross over the small bridge you will begin to know this is the ideal place to spend time with loved ones, extended families or have reunions with friends. This detached property has been lovingly renovated by the owners in 2020, retaining many of the original features with modern day furnishings and fixtures. Downstairs, the two living rooms are side by side, so everyone can have their own space but still be part of the group. A separate dining room is directly opposite the large kitchen, with plenty of room to create a meal for special occasions. A large utility room is the ideal place to leave coats and boots from the day’s adventures before heading to the comfy sofas that await you in front of a warming wood burner. Curl up in front of the large screen Smart TV to catch a movie or upload a video that you caught from your trip out. For a good night’s sleep, head upstairs where five double bedrooms, each with a sumptuous bed, are the perfect place to rest. The master bedroom enjoys a stunning Juliet balcony looking out over the rural landscape, and has a private en-suite shower room. A further family bathroom and ground floor wet room are excellent to wake you up, revived and refreshed. For rainy days, or for the older children of the group to have their own space, the games room has its own sofa, TV and pool table, and will be where they are out of the way and doing their own things.

Outside is where Ghyll Farm really comes into its own. The extensive lawned gardens to the rear are fully enclosed for children to run round in. A large decked area has a family-sized hot tub and is superb for al fresco dining, or sitting under the stars with the gentle sounds of bubbles. The neighbouring owners have a wonderful home for their numerous alpacas, and are more than happy for you to get to know them too. Both the owner and handler, Andrea, will involve you hand feeding them in their field, spending time to make friends with them and learning all about their calm and curious nature.

The stunning natural beauty of the Solway Firth is just 3 miles away. Follow the coast, taking time to soak up the views across to the Scottish hills and the Cumbrian Fell ranges, whilst nature lovers will also appreciate the range of flora and fauna along the way. With the popular market town of Keswick just 20 miles away, you can soon be amongst some of the finest fell ranges, vast lakes and many tourist attractions. To the north you can be in the historical city of Carlisle, with shops, museums and a castle to discover. There is a private swimming pool 2 miles away, and a public swimming pool 3 miles. Beach 3½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 3½ miles and restaurant 2½ miles.
