The location was completely unique and every detail had been thought through. Even things like the history of the house (written really well) had been provided in the binder. Everything was pristinely clean and organised and conveniently located. In terms of aesthetics I felt it was completely appropriate and beautifully appointed and I grew up in an historic house with parents who were big geeks about such things. Getting period detail right and allowing the historic features of the place to ring out while also providing discreet modern comforts (beautifully warm for instance) is so unusual and this place nailed it. No complaints at all and will be recommending to anyone interested exploring that part of the country.

It was better than we expected, and was exactly what we needed. We definitely recommend the Pavillion, and would for sure stay again.

Kirklinton is set in beautiful grounds which you can roam around in freely, the ruins of the old buildings are enchanting you feel like you're in your own fairytale. Our accommodation the Pavillion was welcoming and had everything we needed for our very comfortable stay. Our host Jess was lovely she made us feel very welcome. We wouldn't hesitate to book again maybe in a few years when the renovations of the old hall are underway. Kirklinton is centrally located for Carlisle and lots of lovely villages with lots of history.
