Just a short and scenic drive will take you to Wordsworth House and Garden, the historic former home of William Wordsworth, which is now open to the public and boasts picturesque gardens to explore. If you're feeling extra adventurous, head to Honister Slate Mine to discover the climbing opportunities deep in the old mines, or Go Ape Whinlatter to swing your way through the treetop courses. Children and animal lovers may also enjoy Lake District Wildlife Park, home to over 100 species of animals in a stunning area, where you can also stop off at the café to fuel your next adventure.
