A first-class, detached house set in the owners grounds, on the edge of the small rural village of Great Clifton, just 5 miles from Cockermouth. Converted to a very high standard, this outstanding Great Clifton cottage provides an ideal retreat for a large family or a group of friends to meet up and explore the Lake District. Set out over two floors with ground access at both levels, this great Clifton cottage features a first floor open plan living area with designer kitchen, dining area and a warm and cosy sitting area with wonderful electric fire (woodburner effect). The bedrooms at this Great Clifton cottage are comfortable and the accommodation is extremely flexible, with the added provision of sofas, TV and a pool table in the bunk bedroom. Outside, this Great Clifton cottage offers spacious lawns and a lovely sitting area to enjoy alfresco dining. There is excellent walking and cycling from the doorstep, and plenty to see and do in every direction. Loweswater and Crummock Water are nearby and offer the more adventurous some very challenging fell walking. The nearby coastline is a real delight and of course the many delights of Keswick are just a short drive away. This Great Clifton cottage is perfect, at any time of year.
The village of Great Clifton is situated five miles from the town of Cockermouth on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The area around the village is largely undiscovered and unspoilt with the Loweswater valley and mountains offering dramatic views and scenary. Cockermouth is the birthplace of William Wordsworth, with his Georgian family home now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust, plus the town offers shops, pubs and places to eat. The area is also renowned for wonderful walking and cycling.
