A charming mid-terrace cottage, originally a mill worker’s cottage, within walking distance of a wide selection of restaurants and pubs, in the lovely old market town of Ulverston. With comfortable accommodation that has been thoughtfully enhanced in sympathy with the original features, guests will find three bedrooms, including two on the second floor, a family bathroom and a cosy sitting room with a gas fire. There are footpaths almost right outside the door marking the start of the Cumbrian Way, and close by are the South Lakes Wild Animal Park and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway, which runs up to Lake Windermere. This beautiful cottage is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Lake District National Park, which is less than a 30 minute drive away and where you will find famous lakes and breathtaking countryside surrounded by mountains. At the end of the day, this cosy cottage will be waiting to welcome you back where you can freshen up before wandering down to the town to enjoy one of the many excellent restaurants, or even to catch a show or a play at Coronation Hall. A perfect cottage to stay in at any time of the year.
The market town of Ulverston offers a street market every Thursday and Saturday, a number of events throughout the year, the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a cinema and a leisure centre. The Furness Coast is nearby and boasts sandy beaches and birdwatching, and the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Lakes Windermere and Coniston and popular Birkrigg Common are within reach.
