Guests have had a delightful experience at Station View, praising its quiet location, comfort, and well-equipped nature. The cottage's proximity to the local pub and scenic walks, along with its suitability for families, has been appreciated. While there were minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these were addressed promptly, and the overall stay was enjoyed.
The cottage received positive remarks for being super clean and comfortable. However, there were comments about cobwebs, dust, and areas that hadn't been hoovered, suggesting room for improvement in the cleaning routine.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and convenience for local transport and walks. The proximity to the estuary and the ease of catching a train were particularly appreciated.
Reviewers found the cottage to be very comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and sufficient hot water. The additional space on the top floor for teens was a highlight, contributing to the overall comfort of the stay.
The cottage is described as fully equipped and well-maintained, though there were some initial issues with electricity and WiFi. The prompt repair of the toilet flush demonstrates good maintenance response.
While guests mentioned receiving chocolates and biscuits, and suggested alternative welcome items, there is no consistent reference to thoughtfulness in the reviews. As such, it is not possible to accurately score this category, and guests should note that gifts are not guaranteed.
Set in the Cumbrian village of Kirkby-in-Furness rests this delightful, two-bedroom holiday home, Station View. With an exquisite exterior, off-road parking, and great positioning to nearby amenities, this property is a fantastic base for a family looking to explore the Lake District National Park and its vast, stunning landscapes. If you don't feel like leaving the comfort of your new abode, why not enjoy the sights of the nearby railway line, including a whole host of trains chugging slowly past, sure to excite any keen trainspotters amongst your group; you'll also find a telescope in the attic, perfect for gazing out at the night sky! Enjoy all of this when you book a stay at Station View.
On the Furness peninsula, six hamlets make up Kirkby-in-Furness, which has a view of the Duddon estuary. A general store, two pubs, and a Cumbrian Coast Line train station are located in the village. Broughton-in-Furness, which is only five miles away, has a lot to offer tourists, including a charming square with cobblestones and a magnificent horse chestnut tree that is surrounded by stores, pubs, and homes. The village offers a perfect starting point for a hiking or climbing holiday, with plenty of opportunities to explore the Duddon Valley's untamed beauty and the more sedate Lake District fells. The historic market town of Ulverston, which still hosts a street market every Thursday and Saturday, is located east of Kirkby-in-Furness. The town is now well recognised for hosting festivals all year long, including the famed Dickensian festival in late November and walking and art festivals in the summer. Since it is now the only Laurel and Hardy museum in the world, one of the town's major claims to fame is that Stan Laurel was born there! Many stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, a movie theatre, and a recreation centre are among the amenities. The World of Beatrix Potter, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, and Muncaster Castle are just a few of the neighbouring family-friendly attractions. The National Park's attractions are all reasonably accessible.

Very lucky to have 2 great pubs within easy walking distance ⦠The Ship and The Commercial. Fantastic location to explore the West Coast - we enjoyed trips to the stunning Wastwater, a ride on Laâal Ratty from Ravenglass, and a visit to Muncaster Castle. Bonus to have the main line railway just across the road - we went on the train to Carlisle.

From the accommodation we crossed the lane and hopped on the train to travel up the coast, knowing we were coming back to a warm, well-equipped, clean and very comfortable cottage. The estuary is a very special place with stunning views and amazing light. I would definitely like to stay at this cottage again.
