Benefitting from off-road parking and enclosed garden, the property is nestled between the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Pennines AONB. Larch House welcomes up to eight guests, perfect for a family or group of friends looking to explore this stunning area. After parking up, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home to be impressed by the stylish, well-equipped kitchen, boasting all the necessary appliances required to make your self-catered stay a success. Settle down in the garden room, or venture outside to one of the patio areas and soak up your stunning surroundings with magnificent views to the Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District in the distance, while breathing in the fresh air, watching the house martins or listening to curlew in the adjacent fields as you delight in a cold glass of fizz.

Spend your evenings outdoors, sharing stories or planning your itinerary for the days ahead, before escaping to the sleek family bathroom, ready to treat yourself to a soak or warm shower before curling up in your chosen bedroom.

The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland lies in a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Lake District Fells showing on the western horizon. Set at the heart of the lush Eden Valley and steeped in history, this is one of the loveliest towns in the north of England and was originally the county town of Westmorland. Appleby is nestled between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales, so guests can enjoy the contrasting scenery of these two National Parks, plus numerous walking and cycling opportunities as well as the fantastic leisure centre in the town. Appleby has a wonderful selection of quality independent shops, cafes and delicatessens selling locally produced food and crafts. The picturesque street of Boroughgate, with some interesting old buildings, is at the heart of the town and links the well-preserved Norman Castle with the fine medieval Church of St. Lawrence. Appleby is a major stop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway, which is one of the most beautiful railway journeys in Britain, and still today many of the old steam trains wend their way along this line and over the historic and awe-inspiring Ribblehead viaduct. With the delightful Ullswater and the magnificent Lake District within easy reach, this is an ideal holiday location.

    It's also a few meters away from the excellent White Horse pub. However, sadly it lacked a few surprising basics that you would normally expect to find. There was not enough toilet paper to last our 3-night stay and no shop in the village to replenish. The salt and pepper was empty and there was no cooking oil. There was no hand soap or shower gel in both bathrooms and no basic first aid box in the house.

    It is quite remote regarding location but about 20 mins drive from the nearest facilities ie eating, shopping.It does sleep 8 comfortably but general seating area in lounge is smaller than picture shows.There is a pub nearby but unfortunately doesn't open Monday & Tuesday and closes at 5 on a Sunday. please don't order a delivery meal as we were charged an extra 10pds on delivery due to remote location. Overall a lovely break away.

    The house is well situated with everything either a short walk or drive away, the pub in the village was very welcoming and had an excellent menu. The house itself is superbly appointed and does not feel like a holiday rental at all, everything was hassle free even the EV charger worked well. We would heartily recommend to anyone looking for this type of house
