A few steps lead up to the decked area surrounding this stunning lodge and through to the bright, airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Featuring a Smart TV and plenty of seating, the light-filled lounge is a lovely space to unwind in, catch up with a book or chat into the night. The conveniently situated dining area is ideal for everyone to get together to share a fantastic family meal which you can rustle up in the sleek, fully equipped kitchen. The lodge also features two cosy bedrooms: an en-suite king-size room with a TV, and a fresh twin room, along with a stylish shower room. Outside, the decked area has a charming seating area so you can dine alfresco, along with a private hot tub so you can spend an evening under the stars.

Calthwaite is a welcoming village with a friendly pub and is just to the north of Penrith (8 miles) where you will find a choice of shops and restaurants. Local attractions include Brougham Castle, Lacy’s Cave, Long Meg and Her Daughters and Hammond’s Pond just outside Carlisle (all within 11 miles). There are miles of walks through the North Pennines (13 miles), or you can head west to the Lake District, with Ullswater, Lowther Castle and Gardens, and Dalemain Mansion all nearby (within 13.5 miles).

- Check in for the lodge is from 3pm to 8pm and closes at 8pm
