Alternatively, you can travel to the outskirts of the Lake District, where the market town of Kendal offers a variety of activities, such as walks along The Helm, with its wide range of plants and Fell ponies, the KendWall Climbing Centre, for those seeking some exhilaration, and a local museum offering fantastic exhibits. Kirkby Lonsdale is a charming market town in the middle of the Lune Valley, halfway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
