The Morpheus Glass Shop is a short drive away and home to locally designed, hand-crafted glass, as well as hosting a cafe; additionally, a fantastic farm shop, Windy Harbour, and a local butchers’ can also be found nearby. For days out, book a thrilling karting experience at the Three Sisters Circuit, take on outdoor adventure challenges at Scotman’s Flash Activity Centre or enjoy an afternoon tea cruise aboard the Kittywake Canal, so there is sure to be something for everyone. Alternatively, take a short drive into the larger town of Wigan for a selection of museums to while the day away, find a picnic spot in Mesnes Park, or why not head to Wigan Roller Rink for a fun-filled evening? Just a short drive away is the famous Haydock Racecourse, for anyone looking for a fun day out at the races, they also often run family days for a great day out with the kids! Spend some time in St Helens, where The World of Glass Museum and The North West Museum of Road Transport are bound to keep you entertained for the day! If exploration takes you further afield, the maritime city of Liverpool should be visited, famous for its cultural and sporting heritage, as well as offering an eclectic range of shops, bars, restaurants and hotels, plus plenty of theatres and concert venues for live performances. The village of Billinge, located just west of the Greater Manchester boundary and traditionally in the county of Lancashire, is well-positioned for exploring the attractions of North West England. The township, which once comprised Winstanley, has long been divided into two portions, Chapel End and Higher End, which are considered as separate townships. Orrell, a nearby town, has a variety of attractions, including museums, art galleries, and a waterpark. Liverpool is home to iconic landmarks and fascinating attractions, as well as fantastic retail opportunities including high street names and exclusive independents, while Chester, further afield, is rich in history, as evidenced by the Roman Walls, Eastgate Clock, Town Crier proclamation, and the Rows, a unique two-story shopping gallery dating back to the Middle Ages.
