Stag Cottage is highly praised for its welcoming hosts, luxurious and spacious interiors, and beautiful rural setting. Guests enjoyed the peaceful retreat, the hot tub, and the proximity to local attractions and walks. The property's charm and the thoughtful touches by the hosts contribute to memorable stays.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-presented, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating guests were very satisfied with the standard of hygiene.
The location is celebrated for its tranquility, scenic views, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. One minor issue with directions via Google Maps prevents a perfect score.
Guests found the cottage to be extremely comfortable, with cosy furnishings, comfortable beds, and a warm atmosphere. The presence of an Aga and a wood-fired jacuzzi added to the comfort.
The facilities are highly regarded, particularly the hot tub and the Aga. However, a few guests mentioned the lack of a washing machine and some additional kitchen utensils, slightly lowering the score.
Many reviews mention generous welcome packs and responsive hosts, reflecting a high level of thoughtfulness. It is noted, however, that such gifts, while appreciated, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.
Sutton 2.9 miles. Set on the outskirts of the rural village of Wincle, a short drive south from Sutton in Cheshire, lies this fabulous, detached, stone-build farmhouse, Stag Cottage. Resting on private farmland, boasting off-road parking, gorgeous interiors, and superb views of the surrounding countryside, this beautiful property welcomes a family of six for a relaxing, self-catered escape near the outstanding Peak District National Park. After parking up and unpacking, make yourself at home in your wonderful new lodgings, by getting to work in the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a central island and all the appliances you'll require to whip up a tasty, home-cooked dinner. Enjoy your meals as a family gathered around the dining table, or take your feasts outside into the idyllic rear garden, the perfect spot to sit back and raise a glass of your favourite tipple to toast your getaway. When you're finished wining and dining, take time to relax with an indulgent dip in your very own private hot tub, before you settle down to watch a film on the Smart TV in the plush sitting room as you're kept warm by the crackling embers of a woodburning stove. When sleep finally calls, head upstairs to refresh with a rejuvenating shower or a restorative bath before you finally hunker down for a well-earned rest in one of the three sumptuous, king-size bedrooms. Enjoy your morning coffee out back whilst soaking in your rural surroundings before you head out to explore your local area. In Sutton, stock up on essentials at the aptly-named Sutton General Stores, before you settle down to enjoy a hearty pub lunch at the historic Sutton Hall. For a day out, head east into the Peak District National Park, where Bamford Mill, Peveril Castle, and Speedwell Cavern are all waiting to be explored. For an unforgettable holiday in Cheshire, choose a stay at Stag Cottage.
The Cheshire hamlet of Sutton is located on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park and offers a variety of walking opportunities. Numerous moorland paths and networking footpaths are accessible from the Sutton area. The Peak District bike hubs of Tissington or the High Peak Trail, as well as several difficult hill climbs, provide excellent facilities for cyclists. There are various family-friendly pubs close by, and Macclesfield, Congleton, and Buxton are all easily accessible from Sutton. This is a fantastic Peak District base because the rest of the Peak District National Park is easily accessible, and there are many ancient homes, charming villages, the Alton Towers theme park, and other attractions nearby.
