Church View Cottage in Ashbourne is highly praised for its tasteful decoration, cleanliness, and character. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches from the friendly hosts, Charlie and Gemma, and the cottage's high standard of renovation. While located on a busy road, the charm and comfort of the cottage contribute to an enjoyable stay in the Peak District.
The cottage is consistently described as exceptionally clean and well-maintained, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness.
The central location is convenient for exploring Ashbourne, though the busy road is noted. The difficulty in crossing the road and narrow pavements may not be ideal for families with young children.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, despite some concerns about noise from the busy road which is mitigated by double-glazing.
The cottage is equipped to a high standard with modern amenities like a smart TV and coffee machine. A suggestion for a brush and dustpan indicates room for minor improvements.
The hosts are commended for their responsiveness and thoughtful extras, including a welcome pack. While gifts enhance the experience, they are kindly noted as a gracious gesture rather than a guarantee.

Gather your loved ones with a stay at Church View Cottage.
Ashbourne, which is located at the southernmost point of the Peak District, is the epitome of an English market town, complete with a marketplace with stalls, an odd street layout, winding cobblestone lanes, coaching inns, and almshouses. The town was a posh social hub during its heyday in the 18th century, and many lovely Georgian structures from this period still stands today. The town is still known as something of a sanctuary for antique hunters today and still has a lot to offer in terms of restaurants and inns, but don't expect a deal! The Dove and Manifold Valleys are nearby for those who prefer more outdoor activities, while Alton Towers, with its thrilling collection of thrills and attractions, is only a short drive away for thrill seekers.

Very well equipped and recently modernised. It was really warm and comfortable and highly recommended. The road is busy but itâs only a short walk to town. I suspect it will be made a 20mph soon. Iâd recommended Smiths Tavern and a trip to St Oswalds

Ashbourne is a lovely market town which never disappoints. Charlie made us welcome with his lovely gift and he kept in touch, checking that everything was OK. The cottage is what youâd expect of a refurbished 300 year old building. Clean, well maintained and comfortable. The location is central to all amenities but is on a busy main road, so traffic noise is only to be expected. Iâd recommend Church View Cottage:
