Hope Cottage is a truly delightful holiday home settled in the heart of the village of Youlgreave, amongst the rural greenery of the Peak District National Park. This white-washed cottage is idyllically positioned for groups of both families and friends wishing to enjoy some overdue quality time together in this picturesque part of the country. Park up in the off-road parking area before unloading your belongings and accessing your new home-from-home through the rear of the cottage, where you will be welcomed by the charming dining room, sure to host many delicious meals during your stay. Feel the underfloor heating on your toes as you follow the stone flooring through to the snug sitting room, where exposed wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace highlight the property's original character; put your feet up and enjoy a moment of peace in front of the television as the wood burning stove crackles nearby. When stomachs start to rumble, discover the well-equipped kitchen, uniquely designed with a fascinating "fossil spotting" wall and housing all of the essential amenities, including a handy washing machine to help keep your holiday attire fresh and clean! A wet room and a sumptuous double bedroom complete the ground floor whilst upstairs you will find the master bedroom, fitted with a king-size bed, along with a twin room and a stylish family bathroom. Youlgreave is nestled between two of the area's most beautiful valleys, Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale to the south. This beautiful community has three pubs serving Home Cooked meals, two stores (one with a Post Office) and an ancient church. Bakewell, a charming market town, lies nearby and hosts a weekly market. The Peak District National Park is nearby, as are several magnificent homes, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, and Clake Abbey. Alton Towers, Britain's top theme park, is only a short drive away.

We had everything we could possibly need, with lots of thoughtful touches including hot water bottles (we were lovely and warm so didnât use them) and all the dog equipment you could think of. Parking was a little bit tight but fine for a smaller car. I would say the twin bedroom is best suited to young children (itâs quite small). We had a lovely weekend and the village is fantastic.

So this is our second visit to this amazing property. So impressed the first time we needed a return. The property is beautiful, inside and out. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and the welcome book has so much information for you if needed. Even extras in it about walking routes, pubs etc. Great touch. Furnished to a high standard, warm, comfortable and everything that is needed is there. The living room is especially comfortable and if it wasn't for wanting to explore the area I could of sat there all day. The kitchen, just as beautiful as the rest of the property and if I could cook! I could of spent a lot of time in there too. Not one thing about this property let's it down and you can tell that the owners really put a lot of effort into keeping it this way. Speaking of which, I have never had such great and helpful communication from any owner of properties, and we have stayed at a lot. Makes it feel so much more welcoming. Another great touch. All of this combined made for another great stay, so much so that 4 days after returning home we have already booked for next year. Thankyou for sharing your home with us again and we look forward to another return.
