Guests say

Ash Cottage in Bakewell is highly praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and prime location for exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities, the modern and stylish decor, and the helpfulness of the host, Tracey. While some mention minor issues with soundproofing and steep stairs, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

Guests consistently note the cottage's high standard of cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting it as spotless and well-maintained. One isolated comment about a musty smell was quickly resolved, indicating attentive upkeep.

The cottage's location is frequently commended for its proximity to local amenities and as a base for exploring the surrounding area. The ease of access to walking routes and village shops contributes to its high rating.

The comfort of Ash Cottage is often mentioned, with particular praise for the comfy bed and cosy living space. A few guests found the downstairs area slightly cramped, but overall, the cottage is regarded as warm and inviting.

Facilities are generally well-received, with positive remarks about the well-appointed kitchen and luxurious bathroom. However, comments about steep stairs, the need for a freezer, and minor maintenance suggest room for improvement.

While the host's helpfulness and provision of information are frequently mentioned, there are no specific references to gifts or special touches that would fall under 'thoughtfulness'. Therefore, this score is set to null.

The stairs probably not suitable for the less mobile. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was lovely. The cottage is in a perfect position to explore the area and Chatsworth House is just a 30 minute walk through the beautiful Chatsworth Parkland. There is a choice of restaurants and pubs all within walking distance.

We felt that the cottage was more suited to an active couple as the stairs were rather steep. We enjoyed the area & the local eateries were good
