About this property

In the southern reaches of the Peak District National Park is this delightful stone-built cottage with far-reaching views of peaceful hills. Cosy and inviting with charming original features, carefully chosen furnishings and endearing decor inside, and a wonderful, landscaped patio garden outside, this rural retreat is sure to impress grownups, children and four-legged friends alike. Leaving the property, steep hills lead to breathtaking views and nearby market towns and pretty villages provide plenty to see and do in all weathers.

Lovingly finished, this historic cottage is a friendly bolthole from which to explore the southern peaks. The kitchen is country chic with oak finishing’s, contemporary fittings and exposed beams overhead. The lounge/diner beyond is a cosy and inviting haven to return to after long walks, with its exposed stonework and warming wood burner set into an original stone fireplace. Completing this property are two delightful bedrooms finished with floral wallpaper and two shower rooms - great for early starts in the mornings. Outside, the split-level garden with steps boasts wonderful rural views, offering an idyllic spot for summer BBQs.

Those in search of a quaint village escape need look no further than this quintessential cottage in the southern peaks. Spend your days exploring the delightful Derbyshire Dales countryside on foot, by bicycle or horseback, or jump on board the heritage steam railway from Rowsley (5 miles) to explore this area in comfort. For family days out, take a memorable ride in a cable car at the Heights of Abraham (7.5 miles) or for a spot of culture, visit the historic Chatsworth House (9 miles). No visit to this area is complete without a trip to Bakewell, 6.5 miles away, being sure to sample a slice of the town’s famous pudding while you’re there.
