Hallbrook Cottage is a charming and cosy property, highly praised for its comfort, picturesque garden, and suitability for dogs. Guests appreciate the homely touches, powerful shower, and scenic walks right from the doorstep. The location is central for exploring the Peak District, despite some traffic noise in the front bedroom. The neighbour's friendliness and helpfulness are frequently mentioned, adding to the pleasant experience.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-presented, with comfortable beds and fresh linen. There was a single mention of a musty smell and fleas, which seems to be an isolated incident, hence the high score.
The cottage's location is generally appreciated for its proximity to local attractions and walks. However, some guests noted traffic noise and the busy road, which slightly affected the score.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a lovely garden and homely feel. A few mentioned issues with noise from traffic and wooden floors, which slightly impacts the score.
The cottage is well-equipped for both humans and dogs, with a powerful shower and good Wi-Fi. Some guests experienced difficulties with the fireplace and front door lock, and there were comments about the lack of seasoning and an outdoor washing line, which affects the score.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, and dog bowls, there is no consistent mention of gifts left by the owners, so it is not possible to score this category accurately.

Very dog friendly. Great location for exploring. Secure garden. I would have loved an outside tap to clean off the dogs after our long walks.

Beds were really comfortable lovely fresh white linen! Weather was against us but still thoroughly enjoyed the break, a pleasure to meet David next door who was charming and very helpful on the area, (one of our dogs fell in love with him and searched him out daily

Bed was comfy and the dining room was a cosy room to eat in. The pub that was along the road was closed for winter which was a bit of a shame as it meant we then had to cook or drive out somewhere for dinner. No salt/pepper available so we had unseasoned dinner as we had expected there would be that in the house. Living room fire place really hard to turn on even with the instructions. Took us around 45 mins on the first night, then about 15 on the other nights. Shower was great and powerful but it doesnât drain well so worried about overflow during the shower. Front door quite difficult to lock from both inside and outside. Once got the nack it was easier but same person had to do it throughout the stay. Overall had a really lovely time
