A lovely stone-built, end-terrace cottage conveniently situated near the centre of the town of Matlock in the Peak District. This beautiful cottage provides couples with an excellent base for exploring this spectacular region of the Peak District. The beautiful sitting room is tastefully decorated and features a lovely hearth with woodburner and the original exposed stone walls and beams. The first floor has two comfortable bedrooms and a modern tiled wet room with an invigorating designer rain shower. The well-equipped and the modernised kitchen with dining area is a lovely place to have a breakfast and plan your day. From here, step through the stable door into a sheltered garden with raised terrace, patio furniture and gravelled area with trees. This is a lovely place to sit and relax, as the river provides a calming soundtrack as it babbles past the bottom of the garden. A very short stroll takes you into the historic town of Matlock with an impressive array of eateries, real ale inns, cafes and shops. You are spoilt for choice with lots attractions on offer all year round, whether its a gentle wall along the river front at Matlock Bath, riding a cable car to the heights of Abraham or a visit to the majestic Chatsworth House. There are many cycle trails and trekking routes around the beautiful Carsington Water, where you can enjoy the day spotting the varied birdlife. A lovely cottage for use as a lovely base from which to explore this lovely part of the country.
The popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, has been attracting visitors to the area since the spa was developed in the late 17th century. Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent, the Matlocks offer a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a host of attractions including Gullivers Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum.
