From the doorstep is the pretty village of Tideswell, where there is a Co-op mini market, three pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, bakers, butchers, Post Office and other shops all within 5 minutes walk. Beyond that the whole of Derbyshire and the Peak District are just waiting to be explored, with excellent walking from a challenging hike in the rugged peaks to a gentler stroll in the southern hills and dales. The spa town of Buxton, the popular tourist town of Bakewell and Castleton, including the caves are just a short drive from your Tideswell cottage, and are well worth a visit, while the imposing Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are nearby, along with a fantastic array of attractions to take your pick from! Tideswell is a village in the heart of the Peak District National Park, famous for its church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as 'The Cathedral of the Peak'. It is also home to good pubs and restaurants. Great walking is available for all abilities nearby with rugged northern peaks and gentle hills and dales in the south. Within easy reach are Mam Tor, Castleton and the Spa town of Buxton.
