Guests say

Pearson's But and Ben in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, is a highly praised cottage, celebrated for its exceptional standard, beautiful renovation, and stunning setting. Guests have enjoyed the peaceful environment, comfortable furnishings, well-equipped kitchen, and the scenic views. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring the Peak District, with many appreciating the local walks and interesting trips. While some minor issues were noted, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

The cottage generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests describing it as spotless. However, one review mentioned a less than perfect state upon arrival, which slightly impacts the otherwise stellar feedback.

The location is consistently lauded for its stunning views, quietness, and proximity to local walks and heritage sites. The scenic surroundings and easy access to the Peak District contribute to its near-perfect rating.

Guests find the cottage to be very comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. A few comments about the size of the second bedroom and indoor space during rainy weather slightly affect the score.

The cottage's facilities are well-regarded, with guests appreciating the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor seating areas. The mention of a lightning strike incident and the need for more cutlery and glasses suggest room for improvement in maintenance and equipment.

The thoughtfulness of the hosts is evident through mentions of welcome gifts such as cake and wine. While these gestures are warmly received, it is important to note that such gifts are offered at the hosts' discretion and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Where do I start!? A gorgeous rustic stone cottage with modern and traditional elements set in picturesque surroundings. The tad bumpy uphill drive to the cottage next to fields dotted with sheep adds to the fun and laughter. Everything from the crockery, to the cookware, the furniture, fixtures, gorgeous hardwood floors, the bedding and mattresses were of extremely high quality. The mattresses were zero gravity of clouds of fluffy softness ☁️

A little piece of heaven. It was wonderful to arrive at the cottage, unlock the door and walk through to an immaculately presented space for us to be staying in. We loved the kitchen and dining area/conservatory. The beds were so comfortable and the bed linen very soft. We sat outside and listened to the silence. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant in Wirksworth. And we spent a whole day at Chatsworth House which took all day to see as much as we could. We won't come back because we have so many other places to explore, but we will remember the day we arrived. It did not disappoint and we have recommended the cottage to our friends.
