Holmbridge, a small village in the Holme Valley, is just one mile from Holmfirth, a traditional Pennine market town. A church, a convenience store, a cricket club, and the village's own vineyard are all within a short distance of each other. Holme Moss, one of Britain's most difficult mountain climbs, is located in the immediate vicinity of the village. On the other side of the town of Holmfirth is the renowned Picturedrome venue, which is known for its old stone cottages and winding streets. All year long, the Holme Valley hosts a variety of festivals, including the Festival of Folk (May), the Arts Festival (June), the Food and Drink Festival (September), and a fantastic Music Festival (October). All of these events, as well as the smaller ones like the Yorkshire Film Festival, the Macmillan Art Exhibition, Christmas markets, the Scarecrow Festival and of course the big cycling race "Le Tour De Yorkshire," make this a particularly culturally rich region to visit. My sister and I were looking forward to having a double bed each but we found the stairs up to the attic bedroom steep and the headroom much less then we imagined although it did say at the end of the description limited head room . In fact there was only a metre wide in the centre of the room where you could stand upright . It was impossible to get in and out of bed without banging oneâs head unless you stood up sideways ! I gave up after a night and we used the single bedroom downstairs. The pictures of the view from the cottage are beautiful but we didnât realise that the sitting out area with table is in fact shared with next door and the area we could use was only a few feet up to a line of flower pots . Apart from this the cottage was well equipped but it does make me think Sykes do you you actually inspect the properties before you market them .

We all slept well, enjoyed exploring the local area and celebrating a family birthday at No 19 and we would love to return! We all loved the views and would highly recommend! Situated very close to a fantastic pub, huge portions and very tasty! Takeaway option and small shop attached to pub is very handy for anyone staying at the cottage!

Some good facilities in the village and more just a short drive/bus ride away. Would love to stay here again!
