Perfect for families, couples and friends alike, Ash Cottage enjoys a pleasant wooded backdrop and a generous sized lawned garden, complete with a terrace from which to enjoy a glass of wine on a warm summer’s evening. Stocksbridge is home to a good variety of local pubs, of which some are dog friendly, eateries and shops, including those at the unique Fox Valley shopping outlet which is a mere 10-minute stroll.

For outdoor enthusiasts, ample walks and cycle routes radiate from the area, with the Peak District National Park and Langsett Reservoir just a 10-minute drive, meaning you can explore a whole variety of woodland, river trails and reservoir walks. Cannon Hall is only 15 minutes away, and the world famous Yorkshire Sculpture Park is an amazing local landmark just 20 minutes away. For something different, Holmfirth, otherwise known as ’Last of the Summer Wine’ country, is also around a 20-minute drive and is home to its very own vineyard. Finally, close proximity to the M1 means that Sheffield, including the shoppers paradise of Meadow Hall, can be reached in around 20 minutes, Leeds in 40 minutes and York in around an hour.
