Top Hill Farm Cottage is praised for its stunning views, tranquil location, and friendly host. Guests enjoy the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the luxury of a large hot tub. The property's recent renovations and the outdoor seating are appreciated, making it a great choice for a relaxing break with plenty of local walks and amenities nearby.
While many guests found the property clean and tidy, some noted issues with cleanliness, including dirty kitchen surfaces, cobwebs, and a mouldy hot tub. These concerns suggest room for improvement in cleaning standards.
The cottage's location is highly commended for its beautiful views and peacefulness, with easy access to local walks, pubs, and restaurants. The proximity to attractions and the countryside setting are consistent highlights.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, mentioning modern conveniences, cosy bedrooms, and a sociable open-plan layout. However, some guests noted hard mattresses and steep stairs, which could affect comfort for some visitors.
The property boasts a range of facilities including a hot tub, outdoor seating, and a well-equipped kitchen. However, there are reports of maintenance issues such as a broken back door lock, the need for a hot tub clean, and ongoing building work.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host, aside from the provision of standard amenities and a helpful attitude. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Very clean, modern downstairs with upstairs more traditional, the view and hottub is what makes the place and is top drawer. Garden is open plan and near another building with guests but no issue and remains private as is the hottub Thanks for our stay

The hot tub was amazing, fully adjustable to our preferences (lights, heat, jets/bubbles), one of the headrests was not properly attached so kept coming off, the owner is aware of this and it doesnt affect use of the hot tub at all. The outdoor area looks amazing, an abundance of cushions for it and there were some really good outdoor lights that lit up the garden perfectly. The beds were comfortable and warm and the heating in the house was also adjustable to how we liked it. The owner had left takeout menus which was helpful and there were boardgames in the ottomans which was a nice touch. The kitchen facilities were amazing and there was plenty of space to prep etc. We did have to rewash the dishes as they were not properly cleaned from the previous people, small amounts of food/sauce left on various things which was not a big deal for us and we'd typically rewash dishes when staying away from home anyhow. There was also a few lamp lights not working. The location is great it is far enough away to be tranquil and peaceful but not so far that you feel like you're driving forever to get to the shops. About a 5 min drive to the nearest village. The owner was excellent and quick at communicating with us when we had any questions or comments.

We thought the owners were in the first property but thatâs a holiday let too. We loved our stay however found the mattresses too hard and used both beds in a bid to find a comfortable sleep. The hot tub was the highlight of the property and booked it only because of the view and the hottub. Think lesser ambled people would find the stairs to bedrooms and down to the only toilet in the property difficult as they are very steep and narrow in stair width. The steps down to kitchen are very steep and uneven, but the kitchen has all you need apart from a dishwasher and dryer. The kitchen crockery and pans are good quality, everything you would need to make home cooked meals at home.
