Guests say

Curlew Barn is consistently praised for its welcoming hosts, beautiful location, and relaxing hot tub. Guests appreciate the property's charm, the convenience of nearby attractions, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The accommodation is described as cosy and well-equipped, making it a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding countryside and enjoying a restful break.

Guests that stayed at this property said

There are no specific mentions of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.

The location is highly regarded for its proximity to lovely walks, towns, and local attractions like Alton Towers. The peaceful countryside setting and the convenience of nearby villages and Leek within a short drive are frequently mentioned positives.

The barn is described as comfortable and cosy, with a few guests noting it might feel a bit snug for larger groups. The mention of limited headroom and open plan bedrooms suggests that while generally comfortable, there are some considerations for specific guest needs.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the hot tub being a standout feature. However, there are comments about the hot tub's limited operating time and a couple of low doorways. The lack of Wi-Fi is noted, but not seen as a significant issue due to good 4G coverage.

The host's thoughtfulness is evident in gestures like a welcome bottle of wine and responsiveness to guests' needs. While such gifts are warmly received, they are personal touches and may not be a consistent offering for all stays.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. Great location for Alton Towers and the peak district. The barn has all the conveniences you need with the added bonus of a hot tub which is perfect to relax in at the end of the day. Note there is no WIFI but the 4G coverage is great so no issue for us. Plenty of secure parking and a great Indian restaurant 100 metres down the road. The barn conversion is good but there are a couple of low doorways in places. We had two at 6'1 and 6'3 in our group and we managed fine with a bit of care. Lounge area very comfortable. No complaints. Would be happy to return in the future.
