In the Wealdon district of East Sussex lies Pevensey, a village around 5-miles north-east of Eastbourne, with the settlement of Pevensey Bay forming the part of the parish. Often escaping the notice of tourists because of all the other notable attractions, this is a historic place as it is where William the Conqueror landed when invading England in 1066 after crossing the English Channel from Normandy, France. The Pevensey Levels are marshes which cover an area of around 47-square-miles and are a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a large nature reserve. Over in Pevensey Bay you can enjoy a day at the seaside on the shingle beach, which although is small has many facilities like shops and several pubs and restaurants on the seafront. Here you can also find Pevensey Castle, a medieval castle now in the care of English Heritage and open to visitors, once occupied by Romans and then the Normans, and used as a garrison in the Second World War, it has witnessed a lot of captivating history. Pevensey is a great spot from which to reach other nearby historical towns such as Hastings and Eastbourne.

Comfy beds, good showers, very good food cooking and storage facilities. My partner and myself had a fabulous week at Dolly's Delight. We had a week of sunshine so was able to make full use of the decking. From the side decking you could see parts of the sea and at high tide (especially at night) it was lovely to listen to the waves breaking against the pebble beach. The home had everything you could want for a home from home stay. The site is small and quiet. We didn't use the 'sister site' at all so can't comment on that. Lovely walks around the beach to Pevensey Bay Village and along the beach or path to Sovereign Harbour. Used the local bus to go into Eastbourne one day - frequent service. Also very handy for other south coast attractions, we did Birley Gap and Rye and Pevensey Castle. The Castle Tearooms did a nice cream scone in the garden in the sun. Would definately recommend and will certainly come back if traveling to the area again. The little area of houses and shacks on the beach edge was so lovely. From a personal point of view just one bit of info I would suggest is given in the description is that the incredibly comfy duvets are feather/down and as I am allergic to these it could have caused me a problem. It would never put me off going anywhere I would just take my own duvet. As it was it was so warm I managed with the cover and a blanket. I know this info is rarely shown but as this is pet free accomodation there is a good chance that people with animal allergies like myself will be choosing it But it did not detract from a lovely week and fabulous accommodation . I certainly didn't want to leave.
