For couples who fancy a unique getaway and something out of the ordinary, this detached 19th-century listed folly stands in the garden of the owners’ house and enjoys wonderful views over the pretty village of Hambledon, the birthplace of cricket. This Georgian Grade II listed property was built in 1832 and is situated in the South Downs National Park making it perfect for stargazing. There are many wonderful walks nearby, and just 13 miles away are the sea and the coastlines of Hampshire and West Sussex – including picturesque Chichester Harbour. Easy touring to stately homes at Beaulieu and Broadlands, and gardens at Exbury. Portsmouth (13 miles) boasts Nelson’s Victory, the Mary Rose, a wide range of amenities, a harbour and ferries to the Isle of Wight. Historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester area a half-hour drive. Rose Bowl cricket ground is within easy reach and a local free tennis court with all equipment supplied free of charge, National Trust properties and gardens, Goodwood Racecourse, Festivals of Speed and Revivals are all easily accessible. Golf, horse riding and fishing nearby. Shops 200 yards, pub 400 yards.
